Deep Condition
Treat your hair to deep conditioning every 1-2 weeks using a hydrating or moisture-protein balance mask. Let the treatment sit with heat or steam for best results. This keeps the hair soft, nourished and tangle-free. We recommend using the K18 leave-in molecular repair hair mask if your hair has been treated or heat styled and Monday deep moisture hair mask for regular maintenance.
Moisturise & Seal
Raw hair doesn't recieve natural scalp oils so it needs moisture from you. Use a lightweight leave-in or serum on the ends as needed. Avoid heavy butters or thick oils to prevent buildup. We highly recommend Olaplex No.7 Bonding oil or the Aussie super serum leave in conditioner.
Protect from heat
Always use a heat protectant before styling with hot tools. Limit heat where possible and alternate with heatless styles to maintain hair health and shine. For protection against heat try using Tresemmé keratin smooth heat protect spray which protects hair up to 230 degrees celsius. You may also use Olaplex No.7 Bonding oil as a heat protectant. Also note that sprays are ideal for blowdrying and serums and oils are better for direct heat styling such as straighteners and curlers. Choosing the right product is always important to maintain healthy hair.
Preserve at Night
Wrap hair in silk or satin wrap before bed and gently braid or twist to prevent tangling. When not in use, store hair in the satin lined box or on a mannequin head to maintain it's shape and texture. This is imperative to ensure minimal breakage.
Trimming raw hair
Raw hair benefits from occasional trimming, much like hair that is still growing from the scalp. Over time, the ends can become dry or split due to heat styling and friction. Trimming every few months helps maintain the health, softness and natural movement of your hair, while also preventing tangling and shedding. Focus on lightly dusting the ends rather than taking off length- This keeps your raw hair looking fresh, polished and full of life for longer. Trimming before install is advised.
